full description

Here is all the information.

You wake up, look out the window and see that last night's snowstorm has left a blanket of snow that appears to be knee deep. Still, it's a perfect day to bike to work. That's because the city of Boulder focuses on keeping bike paths safe and usable.

Mulit-use paths in the city of Boulder are maintained to high-level transportation standards. Separate snow removal crews begin plowing the city's multi-use paths at exactly the same time that other crews are plowing city streets. Boulder Creek and Broadway paths are plowed first, followed by the Foothills Parkway path and other Greenway paths. The Boulder Creek Path is cleared by the Parks Department, while the Broadway path, from Baseline Road to University Avenue, is cleared by CU-Boulder facilities maintenance. All other multi-use paths are maintained by city of Boulder Street and Bikeway Transportation Maintenance (or the adjacent property owner). On-street bike lanes are cleared during street snow removal operations.

To encourage local commuters to give winter riding a try and to celebrate those who cycle all year long, GO Boulder is hosting the first ever Winter Bike to Work Day:

full description

Hi,

I'm trying to deal w/ my doc. team - Grrr!!!!

I'm wondering if there is a way to (per-sprint) to allow developers to mark their stories/tasks as 'customer documentation affecting' - so that our doc. team could peruse the per sprint stories/tasks later and see what development changes affect customer facing tasks. And if its possible to create a view on tasks that have been annotated as 'customer documentation affecting'.

We don't have our doc. team in our daily scrums before you ask - sorry

Thanks very much,

Deanna and Grubb & Ellis (Property Mgr) working to get building certified as "green". Invite Deanna to next Green Team meeting to learn what they are doing. The Cafe reports to her, so we can discuss how we can get them to participate in composting their food waste, swapping out styrofoam cups and paper plates that are compostable.

Susan to invite Deanna to Dec 5 @ 10am mtg - meet in cafe

Rally paying $200/mo for composting bags, change 15 stations/night. Also signed up for larger composting bin to include cafe, which they are not using currently.

Action:
1. Create Posters to educate people on what's compostable/recyclable/trash with coffee cups, lids, containers, etc.

2. Rally sponsor a compost container in the cafe? We could provide the compost liner and an education station with Posters to show people what is compostable and what is not.

Next green team meeting on Dec 5th in the Cafe

Have we considered setting up a cell phone recycling station at Rally? My husband's company (www.cellularrecycler.com) collects cell phones on behalf of non-profits and businesses. They refurbish/resell phones that are in good shape and the rest get sent to a smelter to gather the precious metals. Part of the proceeds from the re-sale can also go to non-profits like the American Cancer Society, with which they have a partnership (they do keep a small portion to run their operations). Admittedly, some parts of cell phone recycling are controversial because there is one view that the waste just ends up in less developed countries that can't handle proper disposal. However, Brandon's company does the best that they can to reuse and recycle. They also collect cell phone chargers and accessories. And in case you're wondering, the bread-and-butter of his business is much larger volume through manufacturers, so I don't benefit personally from this - just wanted to pass along the idea! Thanks!

•It takes a gallon of oil to make a new laser cartridge
•In North America, over 350 million cartridges are thrown out each year
•It can take as long as 450 years for a cartridge to decompose in a landfill

I used to mail my used inkjet cartridges to a recycling company, but a better idea would be to support a local company that recycles used cartridges here in Colorado.

Here's a couple of local recycling companies who will bring by a drop box.
- printONE
- CartridgeWorld (they have a storefront at 29th street mall - and will even donate $$ to a local school or charity of our choice: http://www.cartridgeworldusa.com/section.aspx?id=6822)
