Do you have any recommendations on how I can better debug? Currently I'm coding in the "Custom Tab" window and just reloading the mashup in Rally to see changes. Thanks.

Full Description

I am working on a number of Java applications that use the RESTful API. I am using JAXB to process the responses. The problem is that the response objects are sliced into <kbd>DomainObjectType</kbd> instances regardless of whether you have elected to include all details using the <kbd>"fetch=true"</kbd> option. There does not seem to be any way of actually using the full results that are returned to you. However, if the XML elements state their true type by including an <kbd>xsi:type</kbd> attribute, then JAXB will create objects of the derived type.

When I issue a query that returns a set of <kbd>HierarchicalRequirementType</kbd> and <kbd>DefectType</kbd> instances, I have to issue an additional fetch for each one unless JAXB has enough information to identify the type. The current type attribute is close, but the value has to refer to a <kbd>complexType</kbd> in the schema. I mocked up a response including both attributes and it works like a dream. Has anyone else run into this?

For example, if total Task Est for an iteration of 20 days is 1000 person days, the average burndown per day is calculated as 1000/19 instead of 1000/20. Why?

Full Description

I see that they are available via the API but it looks like the document is part of the returned xml. I have not tested much, but is the <content> tags content just the binary data from the uploaded file so that if it is saved then you should be able to open it with the creating app (ex. MS Word)? Alternately, is there some way in the UI to select a number of attachments to be downloaded.

Full Description

I can see how I can set up a notification to be sent to me when one of my defects are changed. But I don't see how I can have an email sent to a group when a new defect is created.

Question by lsi

I understand that once a story gets assigned to an iteration, it is removed from the backlog, as it becomes committed at this point. But if it's just assigned to a release, why is it removed? This makes planning very difficult.

Also, why can I pull in the release column in the backlog tab but nothing appears when I choose the release I'm interested in? It only allows for unscheduled entries.

Has anyone else managed a way to view a release backlog through the Plan>Backlog tab?

Thanks!
