A contest that involves our offsite employees in carbon emissions reduction.
All this month at the Boulder Rally location, we're doing what we've come to call the Rally Commuter Challenge 2008. This is a contest to reduce our commuting carbon footprint, but it only addresses the problem for our Denver and Boulder employees. As a matter of fairness to our offsite employees, and as a way to encourage critical thinking about our carbon footprint as a company, we're doing a contest for them as well.
So, in the comment section, write any ideas or suggestions you have for ways to reduce waste and emissions for our offsite employees. The best, most implemental suggestion will win a prize comparable to the prizes in the onsite contest. Let's hear your ideas!

For Boulder-based folks in the Professional Service dept, we have decided to track how often we use alternative commuting for the days we are here. It's less about improvement or percentage, and more about totals. Thus, each person gets a point if he/she walks, rides, or takes the bus to the office (instead of driving). One day, Rachel got a minus 1 because she not only drove to work but then had her S.O. drive to meet her in Boulder. Currently, we are not counting points for taking the bus to the airport, because only Jenif is crazy enough to do that.
I used to take the Super Shuttle to the airport, which picks you up at home and drops you at the gate. You save time parking but overall it takes slightly longer (an extra 10-15 mins).
