The Dos and Don'ts of Green Marketing
    Content:

A colleague alerted us to this seminar on green marketing, done by a law firm out of Chicago.  This looks to have some excellent resources for companies that are becoming more sustainable but want some insight on how to market that and avoid "greenwashing" their company.  This is a major concern when marketing departments go full steam ahead on the green front, without having the true green expertise to back this up.  This conference could be very valuable to avoid this problem and the watchdog groups associated with greenwashing.  I couldn't find this other than in the forwarded email, so I'll paste the body of that here.

What You MUST Know Before Advertising that Your Company is Green

Many businesses feel the need and the desire to emphasize the environmental benefits of their products and services. Terms like green, eco-friendly, sustainable, or carbon neutral may appear in your company's advertising, but are you sure that your company understands the rules that apply to "green" marketing claims?

This presentation will help you take the guesswork out of whether your advertising claims will get you in trouble by providing useful guidelines to follow when creating ads or writing press releases. You will also learn how to effectively add credibility to green claims through third-party endorsements from trusted environmental groups.
